First Steps

A variance from traditional portraits of mother and child, First Steps provides insight into a most crucial moment of the mother-child relationship as a mother experiences her child’s first step into life, and therefore first true sign of maturity. In the work, the doting mother stands behind and wraps around her child as she leads him to take his first step.
